Departmental Overview

The Department of English, which is in its formative stage, is dedicated to impart to the students a proper knowledge and understanding of English language, literature, and cultural studies. Along with British English Literature, Indian English Literature, African Literature in English, American Literature in English, Ancient Greek Literature in English, and Basic Phonetics have been taught in the Department. Apart from formal lectures with modern audio-visual aids, there are also arrangements of remedial classes and informal group discussions in the Department. Assessment is done through a number of class tests, pre-Test and Final Test. The students are also encouraged to participate in various academic, social and cultural programmes and activities for their all-round development.
