Departmental Overview

S. B. S. Government College, Hili was established in 2015. The Subject, Sanskrit (Honours and Pass) was also introduced from the beginning of this college under affiliation of University of Gour Banga. The Department of Sanskrit was started its journey under the Headship of Dr. Debamitra Dey after her Mr. Rakibul Sk. The Department has sufficient books in different segments of Indian Philosophy, Veda, Literature etc. for academic upliftment of the students. This Department has recorded the brilliant academic achievement of many students in the University Examination from the very beginning of this college. A lot of Students of this department always play a great role in NSS, Co-curricular activities, Cultural Programme etc. and also take place in sports. We, the faculty members are very happy for getting an opportunity to enrich in their curriculum for examination and morality to serve the Society and Nation. The Department also arranges Parents-Teachers meeting every year to discuss the problem with each other and to fight against the most current serious problem, ‘drop out’. It also tries to purchase the most recent books every year to keep update the students for NET, SET examination, modern literatures and philosophical arguments.
